85% of visitors use search engines to find sites on the Internet. 58% use Directories.
As client Evan Weber of DentalPlans says, "Do everything you possibly can to promote your web site." There are lots of choices on the Internet to help an advertiser get noticed: banner ads, pop-ups, email ads, textlinks, coregistration, search engines and directory listings. Beyond placement in all these forms, CDM offers a service to list your website URL at a wide variety of major web sites and portals. This will help visitors find your site when they go to search engines as well as when the search lists at these sites/portals.
The 3-tier listing service choice include:
Base Level: Listings at well-known and used sites. The actual number of listings will vary by client category and needs (such as US vs International) and the continual flux of sites/portals available for entry.
The Base Level selection has a one-time cost $500 and would include 20-50 listings. The exact selection would be made at the time of commitment. The initial price would include additional listings as new ones become available. However, any changes, such as URL address changes, would not be included and would require incurring the set-up cost yet again.
The Second Level includes Yahoo listings and other major listings as appropriate including and beyond the Base Level listings. The cost of this listing package is $1000 and includes services that require annual renewal.
These choices will require deadlines for decisions prior to renewal covered in the client/CDM agreement.
The Top Level listing package builds from the Base and Second Level listings and includes several major Crawlers, "spiders" that visit web sites, read information and creative entries on search engines after submission as a new or updated site. The price is $2000 and includes more services that also require renewal as in the Second Level.
CDM will work with you to formulate the perfect choices for your listings, for instance, by category and various sub-categories. We'll provide listings as submitted and estimated time to posting. Then we'll track your rankings to demonstrate improvement as viewership of listings yields more visitors.
Internet Campaign Testing
Many of our clients are familiar with testing with either Direct Response campaigns. Testing on the internet consists of:
· Creative (banners, pops, email, textlinks)
· Vendors (networks, individual sites, email lists, etc.)
· Price points for the Internet
· Campaign types, CPM, CPC (Cost per Click) Co-registrations, CPL (Cost Per Leads)
· Campaign pricing.
As with any testing, a budget needs to be determined. At Center for Direct Marketing, we recommend a minimum of $5,000 for ad spending on the Internet. Yeah, you are reading that right - only $5,000!
Where else can you reach 1 million potential consumers for an average of $1.00 per thousand - or less?
Center for Direct Marketing will develop the strategy, bid it out, negotiate the rates, place the media and consult with your on interpreting the results.
